Rorshach's end WATCHMEN MOVIE SPOILERS by Clem-Kle Rorshach's end WATCHMEN MOVIE SPOILERS by Clem-Kle
Well, this is weird.

This is obviously inspired by this scene from the WATCHMEN movie;

It isn't a comic, it isn't a perfect reproduction of the scene from the movie.
I was so impressed by the character of Rorschach that I really wanted to catch his essence; so I decided to draw this particular scene.
It isn't very clean, it's in fact quite dashed off! But I hope you'll recognize the scene and characters.

Texts are in french, sorry! But feel free to give me the english version...

I truly admire the performance of Jackie Earle Haley playing Rorschach (Walter Kovacs). So much expressions on his face during this scene; disappointment, anger, incredulity, provocation, sadness...My point was to succeed in drawing some of them! I tied, I'm not sure all of them are a success, lol.

Concerning Doctor Manhattan. I do not like him. Maybe that's why he is drawn like that. Sorry for the fans.

I didn't read the comic, I first discovered the movie, a few days ago...Now I know what I want for Christmas :)

This is the first time I do such exercice, I hope I will improve ^^

This is beautiful and sad. Good expressions. And it is good practice for French class.

Your version is a lot better than the original comic version. I didn't care for Rorschach's final panels in Watchmen. You and the movie do so much better.

I didn't read the grphic novel (yet); I think it's a very intense scene, full of emotions. In a movie, different expressions can be shown very quickly like it's the case with this scene; such thing is difficult to do in a comic...I dunno, I just feel it will bring some problem in the narrative way, in the rythme.
If I had to do a proper comic of this scene, I wouldn't draw every expression of Rorschach, I'd choose only one. Now I wonder how it is in the original comic...

Anyway, I'm happy you did enjoy this!

It's quite well written, but instead of being tormented and tear-eyed, he looked like he was sweating or suffering a very snotty headcold. As it is, your pacing of this actually is at the same pace as the comic (as was the movie). The dimensions of the panels and the artwork are quite different.
